This week's featured organization is Sleeping Giants, an organization dedicated to stopping racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic and anti-Semitic news sites by stopping their ad dollars.
Many advertisers do not even know that they are funding hate sites like Breitbart. Sleeping Giants leverages a community of Twitter followers to alert companies so that they can change their ad buys. They also provide expertise to assist advertisers in blocking Breitbart.
Is it working? Well, since November 2016, Breitbart has reportedly seen a 90 percent drop in advertisers.
But one advertiser they're still struggling to win over is Amazon. Despite ongoing pressure from Sleeping Giants and their followers, and even in the face of repeated protests from employees within the company, Amazon seems to think it is too big to have to do the right thing.
Sleeping Giants doesn't need any financial donations - what they could use is your time, to alert advertisers and pressure Amazon.
You can also support them (and the companies and organizations who have rejected hate) by buying from their list of advertisers who have blocked Breitbart.
